Mooney insurance checkout training
If your underwriter requires dual instruction in your Mooney before you can fly solo or carry passengers, a Mooney Pros instructor will fly those hours with you in your airplane. We help new owners, pilots moving up to a faster or turbocharged Mooney, and pilots coming back after time away.
Insurance underwriters typically specify a training time required before solo flight or carrying passengers. Our instructors’ evaluation and sign-off, though, depend solely on the competency and safety of the pilot — not on the clock alone. Read the training requirement in your policy or quote, and send it to us. We’ll build the training around it. You’ll only get our sign-off when you’re ready.

How it works
- Send us your policy’s training requirement. That means the dual hours, any make-and-model time, and any limits on passengers.
- Add Mooney Pros, Inc. and your assigned instructor to your policy as named additional insureds with a waiver of subrogation. Your agent handles this. We need the certificate before any flying starts.
- Train. We fly the hours as real Mooney training, not laps around the patch: systems, landings, emergencies, and a cross-country.
- Get your logbook endorsement and the documentation your underwriter asks for.
Why the insurance requirement matters to you
We’re a flight training company, not an insurance company. The additional-insured requirement keeps everyone on the same side of the table if something ever goes wrong, and it’s standard for us on every flight. Our instructors also follow a syllabus that’s on file with at least one major aviation insurance broker.
We don’t promise a premium discount.
