Mooney ferry and repositioning flights, with training en route
Just bought a Mooney a few states away? A Mooney Pros instructor can meet you at the prebuy shop or the seller’s airport and fly the airplane home with you, turning the trip into transition training. We also handle ferry-only moves to a new owner, a maintenance shop, or a new hangar.
Two ways to do it
- Fly it home together (most popular). Your instructor meets you at the seller’s or the prebuy shop. You fly the trip as PIC under instruction, and you arrive home with real cross-country time in your new airplane.
- Ferry only. One of our instructors moves the airplane for you. Instructor time is billed the same whether or not there’s instruction: $800 per day, or $500 for a half day.
What we need first
- A signed Mooney Pros training agreement
- Your insurance certificate naming Mooney Pros, Inc. and the assigned instructor as named additional insureds with a waiver of subrogation
- The airplane’s airworthiness status and any squawks from the prebuy
Cost
Ferry days (with or without instruction) are billed at $800 per day, or $500 for a half day, and travel days are billed the same way. Airfare and hotels are prepaid to the instructor before the trip, and other direct expenses are paid directly to the instructor. See rates →
